“No cease-fire will be accepted”

Poem No Cease-Fire...

As the war in Iraq continues…

Opinions are not difficult to encounter

Everyone is now an expert…

And appears to possess a personal solution

Maybe it’s because so many have not been touched until now…

Or the impact is universally poignant and worrisome

Whatever the case, the conflict is real…

And beyond the influence of most

Yet expressions are unusually robust…

Despite the powerless reality

Such status quo has not been witnessed before…

But the fighting marches on

Regime change is one mission

Killing the invaders, is another

“No cease-fire will be accepted”

“No prisoners taken”, appears too

Our world has been transformed overnight…

Before our eyes and before our helplessness

Our hands are locked like prisoners of war…

Still we have so much to say about the situation aloof

A global civil war looms…

In the mist of international disunity

Alliances are rudely realigned…

The stage is set for a new world order

Salute to our powerful world leaders…

We are now in a state of global warfare
